First thing with this type problem is to identify exactly which FileSet source you are talking about. GD 1968-10-12 has 3 sources available on The Archive:

Shn ID 86759
Shn ID 10909
Shn ID 9385

2nd thing is to identify exactly what your problem is. Which stream is the one that is bad? Are the other streams for this FileSet source good? Each page usually has 3 streams available:

the embeded streaming player
the link to the 64k audio stream
the link to the vbr audio stream

Recently The Archive announced that their file deriver will no longer be creating the 64k streaming file derivative. They are no longer providing 64k streaming files for new sources that are derived. This means that most older shows will still have both the 64k and the vbr streams available. Newer shows will not have the 64k streams available, only the vbr streams are served. The embedded player is still there.

I've examined the 3 FileSet sources for this show on The Archive for you:

Shn ID 86759 has no 64k stream available. The vbr stream and embedded player are good. Normal.
Shn ID 10909 has no 64k stream available. The vbr stream and embedded player are good. Normal.

Shn ID 9385 has no streams available. Bad. This is the problem you need to identify. The admin (Matt Vernon's crew) needs to get into this directory on The Archive and re-derive the streaming files from the master lossless files for this one. Try sending him an e-mail, or posting a notice on the eTree forum to get their attention.

Thanks Arb, Elb and esp Monte!

As usual, you guys clarify a great deal.

First, wanted to be sure it wasn't "just me" as this happens far too often...always reassured I am just above "Complete and Utter Techno Twit, JG" when I find out others are "seeing" the same thing.

Second, yep, it was the most recent one, referenced at some level to Gans and now Owen Bros or some such, and as you note, Arb, probably not much different from the original one that you turned me on to quite some yrs ago, which was a "Gans" I am almost sure (have to dig it out...just have the disks replaced by Miller).

While comparing the Apr Avalon and Ark runs, I also spent some time with the Oct Avalon runs, and as some of us noted a ways back while dicussing Miller's Upgrades, there is distinct "digi-noise" both on the files I have of his, and the ones you can stream here, in DS and StSt.

Not anything to have a cow about, but as you all know, my anal retentive nature causes me to focus on it to distraction...The 10/13 Miller is defn better than the prior versions I have, and thus far, a few listens have not revealed any of this digi-noise biz...

Anyhow, that was all that caused me to wonder what was up with these new postings...and then being unable to sample 10/12...

Thanks again!

I streamed and bookmarked the 3rd or latest upload of 10-12-1968 a couple days ago.
It was a good version, I didn't compare it the others and all that, but it sounded real good actually.

And now today, the bookmarks for that version don't work.
And sure enough, checking the actual details page out, there are no stream connections any longer.

Bear in mind I'm using an OS 9.1 temporarily (my Win XP is in the shop.)
